Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Cardiovascular Care Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: At least 1 year of cardiac experience required (not just ICU). Recent traveler experience is highly preferred. License: Oklahoma State License or compact Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: Flexibility is required. Candidates must be willing to float to Med/Surg or ER to take PCU/Med Surg holds. Job Description: - Work in a 33-bed step-down unit with a cardiovascular specialty. - Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. - Care for a variety of patients, including those with chest pain rule-outs, STEMI, NSTEMI, post-CABG, post-thoracotomy, and post-peripheral vascular surgery/procedure. - Manage patients experiencing respiratory failure with BiPAP or Airvo, dysrhythmias, or blood pressure issues requiring IV intervention and monitoring. - Provide care for patients with CHF, sepsis, and other conditions. - Recover post-Cardiac Cath Lab patients and manage arterial sheaths. - Note: Pressors or IV infusions are not titrated in the PCU. - No block scheduling; flexibility is required. - Complete a skills checklist pertinent to the cardiac specialty, current to within 1 year. - Provide two supervisory reference forms taken within the last two years. - 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period required.
